19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has had a challenging period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former trainer his previous coach.
Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after March of the previous year.
The win also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to get a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led some to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an better serving game.
He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to create a final set.
He rescued four early-game opportunities in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
